Default Door lock not working correctly?

I know this is not S4 specific but yesterday when I was about go surfing I tried to lock all the doors with the door lock button on the passenger door and it locked the back doors but not the front. I couldn't get the front doors to lock no matter what I tried doing (i.e. pushing the button multiple times, unlocking then locking, etc).

So then I went to the driver's side and the same thing occurred. I ended up locking the car with the key FOB. So after driving the car home I decided to try again and yet the problem still exists.

It worked the last time I went out surfing.

So is there something I'm missing here? I did read the manual but I couldn't find anything that supports this. Any help is much appreciated.

Thanks,

You can't lock yourself out. The front doors will not lock from the inside if the door is open.

Hey Thanks Mike. That makes sense now. Is there a way to VAG-COM it so you can?
