Default DP sound question - Sound right to you?

I'm wondering if my set-up sounds like it should. When I hit the gas and get her up to 4k+ there is a sound like a piece of metal rattling. Almost like there is a small rock in the pipe that gets kicked around. Is this normal? Is this what people refer to as "raspy"? Is it less so with a resonated cat back?

What setup do you have? At high rpms, all setups sound raspy..but it shouldn't sound like a rattle

You must have only the DP with original Catback... thats what mine sounded like until the CB was ready for install. Sounds just like stock until you hit it... and well you know the rest... The Labree catback with resonators will kill most of it with its deep muscle car tone.

Default doesn't sound right to me

I don't hear that sound with mine.

Maybe something is not tight?

Default Check for exhaust leaks.....

make sure everything is 100% tight. Also is this when the car is cold, hot and does it go away?

Default could be your exhaust rattling against something under your car at the right rpm

I installed an exhaust for my freind's mazda 6 over the holidays and he experienced a metallic rattle as he decelerated past 2300rpms, it was just the exhaust pulses causing the exhaust to rattle against a part of the frame at certain rpms. I adjusted it slightly (moved the right side tip back an inch on his) and the sound went away

Default Re: could be that it hits something when cold

when the exhaust has expanded and is warm, perhaps it no longer touches, have a look under and check for rubbing
