Default Yes, It puts extra stress on the teeth and can lead to tooth fractures.

This is even more likely to cause cracks or fractures in teeth that have fillings

Default Upper third molars are a piece of cake to remove if they have erupted into the mouth.

The same cannot usually be said about the lower third molars. There are exceptions.

Actually strength has little to do with it. Leverage is the key!

Default Ohh, come, come now...

You're exaggerating. It's easy! I pulled one of his molars last year. Problem came in when I went to the bathroom (number two) without washing my hands. He got all upset. I did the 3 stooges method on him.

Default Do it yourself dentistry! Anyone want to try to practice without a license?

I belive they would frown on that in CA.

Default I am a dentist too, if you feel like a second opinion:

BAD IDEA

Dr. GP is right, if not understated. Let an oral surgeon put you out and wake you when it's over if you require deeper sedation. On the lower teeth you are more likely to break off the crown and leave root fragments than you are to extract the tooth. You risk damaging the nerve that affects half of your jaw (like being numb for months or permanently) if your anatomy predisposes you to it. On the upper teeth you are likely to fracture the surrounding bone.

I know many people on this board (including myself) have the DIY spirit. I think we all appreciate that hardwiring a radar detector or bolting on an exhaust is not the same as rebuilding a motor. Know your limits, even if you failed at rebuilding a motor you could buy new parts and start over. Not so easy with your body.
