Default Okay, but how about...
staying with Audi approved synthetic oil and changing my oil at 1000 miles just to get the junk out? Or should that be done at 1500 miles? Or 2000? Or 2500?

I've already bought lots of that Lubro Moly stuff. I also live near an indie shop thats highly regarded by the people here on AW.

That is what I would do. But many leave the factory oil in for 5K

Default I've destoyed one or 2 myself.
Then again, I have done a few sucessuful rebuilds as well.
