clearence for brakes mainly.
the width of the tire determines the actual size you can put on the rim
if you run a bbk then that's your concern.
if you have an 18 x 8 you can run 225 235 and on some 245 width,
go to an 8.5 and you can run up to a 255 etc... hth's
