Default DVD Question.

So....I want to play DVDs from the Nav System. Is this the unit to purchase?
Anyone have advice on what to purchase, what cables are needed, and any sage advice on installation?

thanks!

Default Careful......

I assume you have the video-in-motion (vim) patch to allow the nav to display video above 5mph.

Also, the vim patch will only work on nav units running software version 250 or less. The newest DVD available from navteq includes software version 260, which for reasons only known to audi, removes vim completely from north american nav units.

More information is available at navteq.us if you are so inclined.

Default OHH good to know!!!

I bought a euro RNS-E for my US rs6 and had it coded for VIM. That's really disapointing that i can't upgrade to the 2008-2009 map disc...

Default VIM patch? Sorry have no idea what you're speaking of...

I have the stock NAV system in my 2007 S4. No patch, and NAV works at all speeds. How can I tell what version of the software I'm running?

thanks!

Default If you buy the new 2008 map DVD the TV/DVD input will be disabled...

for some reason Audi have chosen to disable the TV/DVD input when you upgrade to the 2008 (5A) map DVD.

Default here's a thread about Dietz 1417 and 1280...

some people say the Dietz creates a lag on the updating of your location in the sat nav. Check it out anyway...

Click Me!
