ECU Flash + Warranty = SOL?

Will ECU flash void my warranty? I believe the answer is "depends on dealer", but is there a predominant experience in this matter?
So since i've put my FI fullback system in, i've had CEL. I VAG'd it and cleared an O2 sensor exception. CEL went away for about 2 drive cycles and now it's back.
I would consider ECU flash if for no other reason than to ensure the CEL goes off (flash upgrades account for the impacts of after-market exhausts, correct?). Any negative experiences with chipping?

they are using a more restrictive 300 or 400cpsi high flow cat to try and pass efficiency but even a quality 100cpsi cat will not set off a CEL. Just show them your codes and ask that it be warrantied.

Btw, ASP 200 cell cats immediately set off the CEL back in 04 when they made downpipes. Hence why Revo tuning created a CEL shutoff for cat efficiency codes.
Edited thermal to ASP. This was Damon's car...he had a thermal catback paired with ASP dp's.

and i've seen Jet Jockeys 100cpsi race cat never set off a CEL for the tens of thousands of miles he's used it. Similarly i've never had a CEL in 15K miles on my 200cpsi APR cats or my old 200cpsi HJS cats. Some cat manufacturers just arent able to achieve that efficiency though and will instead tell you that you cant have a 200cpsi cat that wont set off the CEL (I had a manufacturer tell me that when I was researching exhausts for my car).

one sample datum will not speak for the rest of the population; he just installed the cats...it's much more likely than not, that his O2 censors are fcking up rather than the same cats that many other FI users have on their cars being the cause of the cel.
Now, if they were old cats, I'd definitely agree. Our motor runs hot, and I'd bet most cats that 50k+ hard miles on them will fry, especially given we have several examples of higher mileage stock dp s4s having stock cats go as well.
