Default Effen Potholes -- busted a Pirelli 240 Wintersport...the second one!

Are these tires weak? Second sidewall blow after hitting a pothole (only going about 15 mph).

Now, there's a slight pull to the right w/ OEM spare on the front left -- hoping to get that fixed by throwing one of the rears on the front w/ similar tread wear?

Or is it alignment time??

I hate Chicago in the winter. /rant

Default If it pulls right after hitting a pothole, my money is on a bent suspension component.

Move the tires around and check the pressures, but if that doesn't resolve it, this might get a little expensive.

Will try that. It's a very subtle pull...but it wasn't there pre-pothole.

Default If it's due to spare on one wheel, snow tire on other, my bet is on different rolling diameter

Wait till you get two of the same tires - with equal tread depth - on left and right before deciding if you have an alignment problem.

Default Are you putting a brand new P240?

I'm asking because the exact same thing happened to me on wednesday. I'm now running the spare (I feel no pull so all is good) and would like to find a used P240 (passenger side, about 20k kms used) to finish the winter. Next year i'll invest in cheap narrower wheels for winter and snow.

If not, what are the reconmmendations for the spare? I'll probably forget to change it until summer...
