Exhaust Thoughts

What is your goal? Is it just sound? If so you will just need a catback. B6/B7 4.2L do not respond to mods well so if you are looking for power, I say forget it and save the money for another car.

I just did my B6 S4 with APR downpipes and exhaust with 93 octane tune. Its great and I can feel the increase in power plus better throttle response. Totally worh it despite what the guy above me replied with.

From the research I've done, seems like you need to get a 2.5 cat back paired with a down pipe to really see gains. If you look at the APR ( I think it was) dyno sheet for the exhaust, it actually performed worse than stock, except at like 5800+ RPM, which , I mean is sort of silly IMO.
I want the torque coming on WAY earlier than that.
Anyways, 2.25, 2.325, whatever, I would rule them out.
JHM has the fastest all motor b6 that I'm aware of, plus has some quality parts from what I've seen. I'm thinking about doing the fast intentions full back - the sound is amazing (youtube: fast intentions b6 s4) and the gains are credible.
I also like the sound of the autosport, but its 2.25 I think, so I ruled that out. Same w/Milltek. But then again, my #1 goal is power, not sound.

See post below. The FI full back is the way to go IMO. At 4 years the performance, sound and quality are the best bang for the buck. The mufflers and tips still look great (I actually wash mine) and when you jump on it the performance and sound are the best.

APR sounds great, but, so do some of the Miltek-- either one, whatever is the best price-
I have the StaSIS for A7 2.0. I am pleased, as it is very confortable as a daily driver, but it does have enough sound. Frankly, I like the sound of the APR and Milltek better-- For me, not as a daily sound though-- But I wish I had a switch to turn that noise on once in a while!

Frankly, I like the sound of the APR and Milltek better, AND ALSO THE FI ON YOUTUBE!!!!-- For me, not as a daily sound though-- But I wish I had a switch to turn that noise on once in a while!
