think of the other cars on the road in which you would have been injured being rear ended by this "self identified *****".

You walked away.

My main reason for going for Audi (other than the performance of the V8) is the safety rating.

Default For sure, get a lawyer immediately.
Get all of your medical bills paid, plus get a few grand of compensation on top. Being hit from back is usually seen as 100% fault of the other car.
