Because until you've driven the new S4 you have NO clue how it performs. Your A4 may look like a S4 to the masses, but true sports car enthusiasts will know it's just an A4.

But actually my dad just didn't want to get me the S4.
He said he would buy me a GTI 20th Anniversary right now so I could have a stick and my A4 at the same time.
IE the different between my trade in and the MSRP on the GTI is exactly equal to the S4's cost.
My dad flat out doesn't like the S4.
He was willing to do that, or trade my car in for an M3. But I don't "love" the M3.
So since I'm living on campus and my car is for all intents and purposes brand new.
It just doesn't make sense to get something I don't like.
As for the GTI... its a piece. Weightless clutch. Might as well wait for a true sports car. I don't need to compromise to the "sedan for practicality"... Not like I have a family to lug around.

You know what while I'm at school I have no where to drive, cause if I move my car... when I come back there are no spots.
When I'm home in South Florida I have an M3 Convertible to drive around in. My dad doesn't mind letting me drive his car.
Thats another thing.
It'd be criminal to buy the S4 to have it sit here in a lot.

if you want a car that performs take a WRX ...
The S4 for 50k, needs to be the total package.
Not Navi with a map is also a deal breaker sadly.

"The S4 is a carbon copy of the A4"? Besides the car's body, I disagree. I suggest that instead of "letting it sink" while you sit in the car, you take it for a drive. If you can't notice the difference between the two cars then, don't get the S4. As a matter of fact, you should not get any sports car either. I can't see how you would enjoy driving them.
