Default Interesting - I haven't rotated mine for a while and was thinking about doing so.

Your comments will accelerate that process. My fronts have severly worn shoulders (esp the one that was the outside wheel on my last track day).

Like you, I am also looking at other people's posts for info on what to head for next. It certainly won't be another set of Conti's.

Default I thought for sure you'd say you don't have the stockers on anymore.

I'm thinking s03s. I REALLY want to try them out.

So are your tires starting to squeal? They really got louder on the last drive I was on...it was only about 80 miles worth of hard driving, but by the end I could hear and feel the difference.

What about you? What tires are you considering?

Default I do have 2 alternate sets of wheels to play with - one for track and another for winter use.

The track tires are Kumho VictoRacers and the winter set is Nokian WRs mounted on Ronal R38. I took those off to save them for next winter, so have the OEM's back on.

I am considering 3 choices right now - Goodyear F1's, Michelin Pilot Sport, and Pirelli PZero Nero. I may go with an all season tire on the last 2 given that I don't really need them for true high speed track duty.

Default I've heard great things about the Goodyear F1s, but have heard the pilot sports are a waste

Basically, you're paying for Michelin's name brand, while the s03s out perform.

Why not the s03s if you dont mind me asking?

Why don't you just buy a Caterham and call it a day?

Default The Goodyears Eagle F1 GS-D3 are an excellent tire Alan...

I have them on my car now and find them wonderful for daily high performance grip...

Wet weather grip is exceptional, dry is excellent (probably not quite as high as the S03's), and they are much nicer and forgiving on the road to drive...less tramlining...

Default I have had a couple of sets of S03's on my old B5 S4 and they are a mixed bag.

Not the world's most quiet tire and they tramline very easily. They don't take to being tracked nicely at all - a few heat cycles and they pretty much lose their grip - very greasy feel somewhat like the Conti's except they wear out more quickly. They do have much better wet grip than the Conti's if you don't track them. If you keep the S03's off of the track, they offer very good performance.

Very stiff sidewalls, so road shocks are readily transmitted into the cabin of the car. The Goodyears are supposed to be much more forgiving on this count.
