Seems strange to me too. In the UK you'd get a ticket for running fogs when it's not poor visibility

Guess its a US thing. A car at dusk with just its parking lights and fogs on looks amazing IMHO

Default and it's safer because at dusk and dawn the low beams can be too bright for on comming traffic.

also, since parking lights are really bright enough for daytime running lights I sometimes run the fogs during the day as DRLs. I believe that people see you sooner on the road if you have any type of lights on versus none, so I figure I'd save the life of my Xenon bubls and run the fogs.

What am I missing here? Couldn't you just VAG it to the Canadian setting?

Default With the Canadian setting, the fogs are on all the time (driving lights)...

With this setup, they don't stay on when you want the lights off (like when it's a nice sunny day).

Default The only thing I would change, i would just remove the wire from number two so as not to cut it ...

Then remove the clip on the end of it to use on a new piece of wire that you jump from one and insert back into the number two slot. This way, you dont have to cut your stock wires and can return it to stock if you wish. So this also begs to ask the question, are the 2002 B6 switches different internally that they could be vagged to have the fogs on independently while 2003 and above could not be vagged? Or was it simply an ecu change that would no longer allow that operation?

Default IIRC someone took a '02 switch and put it in a '03 with the VAG mod and it was a no go.

As far as not cutting the wire, you could do it your way, but if I wanted to return it to stock I would just resolder the #2 wire back together. Not as clean as your method but it would work.
