Default Follow up to my runs from yesterday...

Did additional runs today to see what the car would yield if brake torqued.

Weather was a bit cooler. 85F, 69% rel humidity. Elevation: nearly sea level. Same setup as before.

Measured by a certified V-Box II with DGPS.

Given the brake torqued runs with this brand new car I'm sure the car will do Audi's published times after some more mileage on the engine and with ambient temps in the 70F range. Not that far away at this point.

Yesterdays runs at the bottom.

First run. tip in D, no brake torque. This was a control run to see how much the weather altered the times. As you can see, it cost about .12 seconds.

Brake torqued launch knocks off .2 0-60 and in the 1/4 but trap speed remained the same.

Default Seem kinda high

I was expecting and told by a few people that a tip S would do the 1/4 mile in 14.00 or so....
14.5, damn? That's like a whole second off the manual.

Default Again, very consistent...

Keep up the good work! If you do this at a set of intervals you will have some good data on how the engine loosens up.

Default Remember the AutoWeek S6 test where they showed dramatic improvements with 100 octane?

They were off published test numbers too until they put in the race gas, probably by at least a half-second if my memory serves me correctly. Nice to know that not only the turbocharged Audis suffer disproportionately in the heat, it's also the normally aspirated high performance ones that suffer like that too. And Don, I bet your car still needs a little more break-in to really loosen up.

Default i got 6.37 0-60 when I used g-timer

I didn't brake torque or anything. Just hit the gas pedal hard in S mode. Oh well.
