With 60' times ranging from 2.2-2.4 sec it shows that the car is not launching that hard at all. With a solid 1.9-2.0 time the car would be on it's way to a good time.

A lot of people that are disappointed with those times may not realize that when you go to the dragstrip, you are essentially given a rolling start because the elapsed time does not start until the car moves some 14 inches. 14 inches may not seem like much, but it takes a car 0.2 seconds to do it accelerating at the rate of 1g, and after that 0.2 seconds, the car is already going about 4mph. So one would need to add 0.2 seconds to any dragstrip time to compare it with a time from an accelerometer that starts counting at a true zero, and a 14.55 turns into a 14.35.

Btw, the measurement is done with GPS, not accelerometers.
Good info though.
These numbers are more like what car mags are likely to publish. Car and Driver uses the same equipment (at least some of the time).
