Default Front German Plate Install.

Had to remove the US Plate mount and bumper insert to install new German plates. Others over here will eventually need to do this. This proceedure was straight forward and now I can see why the insert is in place on US models. Needed a license plate frame to cover the slots behind the insert as the German plate doesn't fill the space completly.

You may be able to see the 4 holes in the insert that members have had to deal with on a front plate delete.

I want to check with the dealer to see if they have a better quality license frame as I got the plastic chrome one from ATU. Your's will look great with the German plate.

Default Sportvier, my car is coming with the same license plate holder as yours had...

... it gets here tomorrow, and I'm pretty sure I will have either the 2 or 4 holes on that front thing that fills the bumper.

So do I need to buy something else to mount the license plate? And where can I get that?

Did you do it yourself? Is it easy? How's the process?

Thanks,

Daniel B

Default The car should come with a US black plate holder on it...

If not maybe the PO did the plate delete. You can get a plate holder from the dealer or if you state allows no front plate then maybe you can get a new insert without holes from clair parts. It will need painted though. I did the work on mine in a couple of minutes except I popped out the lower grill took it apart and clean it and cleaned inside. For the black holder you can mount the plates with 4 screws or get a nice frame.
