Default Front plate already drilled - options

I noticed that the from bumper has what appears to be an insert behind the license plate frame. Mine has massive holes already drilled into by the dealer (covered by the plate). If I want no plate, can I purchase a clean plate to replace the existing one? Has anyone done this?

Default

Yes you can, and then have it painted for minimal costs.

Default just ordered the part myself today

Just picked up a new leftover '04 S4 (great deal) and some rookie at the dealership mutilated the panel- only noticed after taking off the plate holder. Just ordered the panel from Clairparts.com for $58. Will need to get it painted- it snaps right in. My salesman was going to give me one off a new A8 they weren't using in the same colour but unfortunately it's a different part and wouldn't fit...

Default I have the part , I am just waiting for my grills before I paint

I want to do it all at once and I may even make soem sort of magnet mount for the plate so I can put it on when its needed.
