Default FYI... OE hood weight.

Finally got to remove my B6 A4's OE hood and weigh it.

According to my digital scale it weighs give or take a pound, 40 lbs.

My CF hood from EuroGear weighs in at only 16 lbs so a good weight savings of 24 lbs all of it at the right location on the car.

The car's diet is still going on. Can't wait to see how much it weighs when I'm done.

The OE machanism has already been removed. Going to use two hood pins.

Default Yes everything is out. Chances are what was left of the heating system is also coming out...

Originally I kept only the heater core and some of the OE ducts by I'm looking at a smaller/lighter electrically powered type core similar to what is used in electric cars just to defrost the windshield.

I'll let you know if this works out.

Default Ya know, always kinda' wondered what the tonnage is on the F&B seats--gotta be a lot.....

the factory fully-adjustable Recaros have to weigh a friggin' TON--I wouldn't be surprised to find out they weigh nearly 100lbs each.

Figure if a person were to pull those, plus the rear seat, I'd bet you'd drop 200lbs off the car, maybe even 225. Leave the rear seat out if you don't care, and drop in a pair of CF Recaro race seats. Hard of your fanny but wow what a weight savings I'd bet that is. Not insignificant.

Maybe heater is good to keep (can evacuate engine heat if needed)?

He has an A4, not S4. No Recaros. But the interior is stripped anyway, so that's moot.
