Default TIP and 6MT both have GG tax. Its just a bit less for the TIP.

Unless it changed very recently.

I didn't have GGT on my b6, really I didn't. Nothing on the window sticker on the pricing.

Default Yeah, if I remember correctly they started charging in '05 or '05.5

a GGT for TIP. I believe its 1300$ (or somewhere in that ballpark)

My issue with the GGT is not the cost (chump change if you are serious about the S-4), it's the principle: why should a sports car like the S-4 be subject to the GGT when SUV's (which get much worse mileage) are not.

Agreed...S4 had tax, my Ram hemi did not. No idea why??

That is correct. SUV's are classified as "trucks" for purposes of the tax, which is why they are exempt. If the purpose of the tax is to punish those who pay less attention to fuel economy than others, then SUV's should be targeted as well. Otherwise, scrap the tax completely.
