Sounds like a weird question but I heard when you replace just 1 tire, then you are causing stress on the axle.

Default you can replace 1 without any trouble.

the allowable difference is larger than you'll ever get from tire wear.

Default What size of tire are you looking for? I have a brand new...

tire (235/40/18) from my stock wheel that I am trying to get rid off.

I am not sure what brand it is, I think is a dunlop, but I'll double check when I get home tonight if you are interested

Default I just faced the same decision. My winter tires (Pilot Sport A/S) were @ 5/32nds

I had a brand new one shaved down to 5/32nds just to be safe.

Can you just get the tire plugged/patched? Not all flats require a new tire!

Default I have 30k miles on different brands front and rear, at different wear levels.

Guess how many driveline problems I've had.

I'm sure you'll just tell me I'm lucky, though.
