Default Got my car back from the body shop, but headlight range control...

error indicator showed up on my dash. Too bad the body shop was already closed when I picked up my car. So I couldnt make a complaint. I am not sure if they know how to fix it either since they are not an Audi dealer.

So, I looked up the manual and the only thing it said is to have it repaired at an Audi dealer. I've searched the forum, and didnt really find anything helpful. I've seen many people just took their cars to the dealer to have the error code reset, but many complaints the dealer did just that, without re-alligning the headlights.

From looking at both headlights alignment, the left one is a bit lower than the right one. Anyone of you here know how to fix this? Do I need VAG to reset the error code?

Anyways, I repaired my car at a local Pontiac body shop (one of State Farm preferred body shop). They did a good job, except for causing the headlight error code. They even re-painted my hood and front bumper, i guess to blend with the new fender. The front end looks brand new now, it makes me want to put a clear bra over it.

Took the damaged fender back so that I can practice my detailing skills And at least I know that they did replace it with a new fender, instead of repairing it.

Default I wonder what the 1,0% means on the headlight clip?

Default I had the same thing after my accident

Had to have the car VAGed after the front end repair . When they disconnect the headlights and turn on the ignition, it trows a warning code. VAG will fix evertything.

Default Well, you could do it yourself... [edit]

But I would just take it in and have the stealer fix it.

On each housing there are alignment tabs, two white screw tabs. Both of them are easily seen from above. Look for the phillips head screws in the little plastic circles over the housings.

<img src="http://i9.photobucket.com/albums/a63/rasta4/hladj1.gif">

From Bentley:

Headlight (right)
Adjuster screws on right headlight:
1 - Height adjuster screw
2 - Height/ lateral adjuster screw
The arrangement of adjuster screws on the left-hand headlight is symmetrically opposite.
To adjust the height turn the adjuster screws - 1 - and - 2 - with the same number of turns.
To perform lateral adjustment only turn adjuster screw - 2.

If you decide to do this yourself, you will need to VAG the car so that the auto-leveling learns the new values, as well as set the readiness code.

And a question for you. What offset did you order on your wheels?

Default Thanks Rodney..

I may just have the stealership do it for me since I dont have VAG.

As far as the wheel, Velocity, the place where I bought my RS4 rep from, didnt have the wheel in stock until June. So, what the body shop did, they cut me a check for $300 (for a wheel, shipping, &amp; mounting). I decided not to purchase a new wheel, and use the money towards my $500 deductible instead
