Default Got my S4 today, cats are throwing a CE light.

So I was so excited to get my car today, driving around today and I get:

P0421
16805
Warm Up Catalyst, Bank 1 Efficiency Below Threshold
- Generate readiness code Page 01-110 , if same DTC is displayed again, replace warm up catalytic converter bank 1

P0431
16815
Warm Up Catalyst, Bank 2 Efficiency Below Threshold
- Generate readiness code Page 01-110 , if same DTC is displayed again, replace warm up catalytic converter bank 2

The car came from the dealer with after market cats and exhaust. However I think its running way too rich, but the salesperson says 300pt inspection would have picked it up. Tell that to my pounding headache from smelling fumes in the cabin all day. I think the cats are leaky and the O2 sensors are fouled.

I have the stock cats and exhaust in the trunk, I feel like just telling them to leave the exhaust but toss the OEM cats back on. I'm sure they are not in the business of troubleshooting aftermarket parts.

Now I'm waiting for a return call...

Default I'd say that would be a good idea - the only solution most place will offfer

will be to do a chip reflash that will ignore the difference in readings from the front to rear O2 sensors - actually what they do is ignore that the readings are the same (the effect of the cats not working) what is suppose to happen is the first O2 sensor will vary all over the place and the second O0 sensor should read flat.

Default Thanks, I read about the chip option, but that doesn't cure the cabin fumes. I'd hate to lose the -

performance and sound, but I'd rather lose that than 10years of my life sucking that stuff in everyday.
