Readiness: 0000 0000

Any ideas? This happened to me once several months ago as well. Then, like now, it seemed to just go away after shutting the car down, resting a bit, and then starting it back up. Now there seems to be no problem (rough idle is gone, no misfires).

By the way, the flashing MIL stopped immediately after I started moving the car again after idling.

Why does this stuff only happen to me right before a track event? I don't think the car likes me very much. Sigh.

Default Just had them all replaced last month while the engine was out.

I sadly had a broken valve spring on the #5 cylinder. Had that side rebuilt and it has been running great since. However, I'm a bit concerned this is happening on the same side.

Like I said, this happened once before all this valve spring business. But that was just a one-time experience. At least until now. Dang.

Default Fail after 500 miles? I'm crying now. :(

As luck would have it I have an appointment at my dealer tomorrow anyway so I'll have them check it out. Since it seems to be running fine now, I'm sure they'll just clear the codes and tell me to bring it back if it happens again.

How much did it cost for you to replace them before?

Default I paid $335 in parts for the four tensioners, and one hour labor at $135.

The engine was already out for warranty work on the head, so I just had them add on this job.

Default Well, dealer didn't find anything obvious when I took it in, but AoA

wants them to replace a cam adjuster on bank 2 given its history. The car is actually running great, but Audi is concerned it may not start eventually. Sigh...

By the time I'm done with this car it will be practically new!

(No, this doesn't discourage me one bit.)
