Has anyone had stock brake rotors replaced???
I am being told that I need to have my front brake rotors replaced at 55K miles due to typical driving wear. Does this sound right?
This is also the 1st time I have needed my brake pads replaced.

This is standard for most imports, and def. for Audi. Rotors do not have any extra meat; typical
wear max. is 2mm - thus if new thickness is 30mm, you must replace at less than 28mm. One set of pads is typically enough to wear the rotors this much. At 55k miles, it is not surprising that you would need new rotors. There is definitely not enough extra material to have the rotors "turned" and most places don't like doing brakes without a machined or virgin surface on the rotor. Paying dealer prices for OEM rotors is getting taken a bit, IMO. Name brand aftermarket is good quality.
