Default AT 335i is faster than MT......

Been to the drags a few times with lots of other 335is..... AT's won every single time.
Just shifts quicker than you can row.

I've owned 2 S4s and now have a 335i and it's no contest really.

But, may end up back in S4 Avant, as I have twins on the way and I could care less about a few tenths of a second or 3mph better trap speed.

When I'm rollin in my Aston, it won't matter.....

;-)

Default Actually the 6MT is supposed to be faster than the AT. BUT

in reality, few owners can shift fast enough to record better times than the AT. Xi model is supposed to be even faster due to better traction. Don't even think about messing with a chipped version. That gets the 335i into RS4 territory

Default And that will probably smoke a 335i. Unless it is chipped.

Of course, chips will be available for the S4 as well.

Default It's not only that........

Most drivers, can't shift as fast as an MT true.

But, I've data logged the 335i.

When you press the clutch in an MT, you loose boost.

In the AT, it shifts so fast, the car holds it's boost, hence another reason the car is quicker.

Default One of his other videos mentions being at 5,500 feet...

...so the 335 vs. S4 was likely at a high elevation as well. At sea level, I think the cars are similar. Based upon what I have read, a modded B6 should take a stock 335.

Default when i was at the track with my dad and his RS4 there was an automatic 335i with an exhaust running

14,70's all night. My dad was running 13.0 Flat and an M5 was running 12.90-13.30's. A 6 speed S4 with an awesome driver should beat a 335i but it would be close.

Default Really?

I've raced two 335is on the street and neither came close. One was stock and the other had exhaust, but it was still no contest.
