dealer guess is heated seats around $500
(cold weather with ski bag usually %625)
my commute is 10 miles of jigs and jogs.
some cars take 6 miles to warm up,
my SVT is warm within a mile or so.
what is typical for Audi? (V8 may change that)
If S4 warms up quick, what is benefit of seats?
Do you like heated seats? Why?

for me at least. Once you have them it's really really tough to go back, especially in the really cold mornings. I've found that it's a great way to get your girlfriend/wife a little frisky too when her bum gets warm...haha

Even though I live in the South where the winters are mild, I love my heated seats.
Every passenger who has used them (particularly rear passengers) has wanted them in their car after their first time.
They are worth every penny in my opinion, particularly during long drives when the heat tends to penetrate your muscles and keep you from getting fatigued as quickly.
In addition, Audi's "thermostat" controls allow you to adjust the the level of heat to "just right" without the ON/OFF or HI/LO settings of other manufacturers.
My two cents.....

It's not really about the car heating up.
If you live in a cold climate the seats will have heat before the heater core is warmed up, but even besides that it's nice to keep you buns warm when it's really cold out.
I don't use them that much in Chicago, but my wife loves them.
Once you have them you probably will never go back (if you're in a cold climate).

I like them since it lets me keep the cabin of the car a bit cooler, which seems to keep me from getting drowsy on long drives....
Plus, the instant warm-up on cold New England days can't be beat!

I have them on my Volvo S80 and have literally only used them once or twice. What I would have loved to see is ventilated seats like those on our 745i.
