I agree...the tailgating probably set this whole chain of events in motion.
But now we have an officer driving his private vehicle on public roads (no lights, nothing to identify the car or driver as a police officer). He was tailgating, speeding, using his car to force someone to the side of the road (which did cause the situation to escalate).
Tell me something, based on both driver's actions, and what you know, how does this play out...realistically. Do you see the officer writing this guy a ticket for anything?
As for eluding police...according to this individuals story, he pulled over when he saw flashing lights. Let's assume there was no attempt to evade the police.
I really feel that while he may have been tailgating, what started out as a minor offence was greatly escalated by the actions of the police officer. That doesn't absolve the other party, but it puts a great deal of responsibility on the shoulders of the police officer. IF something had happened (accident or worse), I suspect the township and the policer officer would get hung out to dry based on his actions.

Stopped next to me on a light, showed me his badge and said "slow down".. I wasn't going that crazy high, but def. over the limit and I was only pulling ahead of traffic on open road.
I think he got offended b/c he was (OWNED) on a Saab.. anyways, I said nothing, gave him a wink and thumbs up and left.

At least this flies in California.
Info is not from some hack either, level 2 (for us advanced ticket holders) traffic school instructor, x-cop of 30+ years, etc..

Sorry but 115 on a public road with other cars? If you got pulled over and your license yanked I wouldn't feel any sympathy, so you should feel pretty happy you just got a warning.
