Default less of a deal then an engine thats for sure....

probably can be done in about 6-8 hours. And most of the problem is the entire exhuast has to be removed. Shouldnt really effect resale.

Yup, and I'm not feeling too comfortable about it.

Default At the end of the day it's your decision. as seen posted here

people have been having relatively (with the exception of AvramD's exp. a show of good faith working with AOA.

I would simply say to follow the path, do all the little things and if that ultimately comes up, pursue it.

the new one's don't seem to be having issues (like mine) and might be worth a Swap for a new one if infact that is the "dealbraker for you"

It does happen, but AOA has been good (from what I've read here) in working things out.

good luck and keep us posted.

I can understand your not being comfortable with it. Has anyone in forum been swapped out for tran?

Default a couple people have.....

If the reverse problem isnt treated right away it leads to the distruction of the tranny.

Default just the tranny...

Audi is getting out of the buisness of fixing parts in the US. They are starting to take a porsche like approach and just replace the unit. I would trust (and have had) and audi dealer do a tranny rebuild. A tranny swap is nothing really. Just unbolting parts and rebolting in the replacement.

Default I hate to see you thinking about getting out of the car Jesse - good luck with the trans swap...

hopefully it's not that big of a deal and the car's like new when they're done..that way you don't have to keep thinking about the Porsche

Default I'd feel pretty confident in a new transmission over a rebuid.

There can be problems with rebuilds. With a new unit, you'll know that it came directly from Germany sealed and intact. While I'm not sure exactly how long it takes to swap trannies, I do think it would be less of a headache than having your tranny disected.

Very sorry to hear about this. I hope they take care of you, whatever path you decide to take with this.
