How big a deal is replacing a transmission? How much does it affect resale value?

Never really thought about it again. Much better than a rebuilt tranny.
If I was used car shopping, a replaced trans sounds better to me than one with more miles on it.

Replacement of an engine, transmission, whatever is just the replacement of a part. (A large part or a conglomeration of parts but it's a subsystem none the less and is no big deal.)
Perhaps it's an issue if you're looking for a Ferrari, but for any normal car if anything it <b>increases</b> resale value, knowing there are <i>X</i> miles on the car but only <i>X-Y</i> miles on the tranny...
