Default Grab the boot, pull off the stickshift surround by yanking on the boot's edges

there's a clamp underneath that you will need to break off. The new shiftboot/**** combo should have come with a clamp that is adjustable via flathead. If not, go to kragen or another parts store and buy a tiny clamp to reclamp down.

Default Really easy

Snap out the ring ( a square ring actually!)around the shift boot. Lift the shift boot above the **** - you'll see that the **** is held in place by a thin metal band. Either cut or break or otherwise distort the metal band. Having done that, the **** lifts right off. When you put the new **** on, use a heavy duty tie wrap in place of the metal band to clamp it back on. I've never had a problem using a tie wrap.
