maybe with just the cat-back. I think Labree has a much more aggressive sound than Milltek once dp's are installed. I've never heard a v8 domestic motor sound as sweet as the 4.2, period. I've heard louder, nastier and raspier great sounds but never the same euro growl our motor has.

Default I haven't heard a miltek with non res to compare. There is a distinct tonal difference between the 2

I almost had my resinators taken out to hear the difference but I'm glad I did not.

Default Re: Loud with the DP's - sounds good w/o DP's but not loud.

I have been running milltek non-res with stock DP's for a long time and it has been not been that bad. MANY say man your car is soft compared to car crazy Milltek DP's and res catback. I recently had the labree DP's fitted to the Milltek and could not be happier. It is a LOT louder ( . )( . ) , so if this is what you are looking for then go for a non res system with DP's. I will compare them to Car Crazy's setup our next Audi event.

Cost is part, but from getting the Milltek cat back and then the labree DP's I have to say the the quality is much better on the Labree. This isn't just coming from me but from a tuner who also only does Audi's. My Millteks are already rusting at the joints along with around the muffler. We'll see how the labree can resist Chicago weather but I have only had the Milltek on for 8 mths now and we have not had that bad weather in Chicago.

Default thanks - one more question

With my Milltek non-res, it's louder than stock but still pretty quiet when the car is cold, though it sounds nicer when it's warm (like after a 20 min or so freeway drive). It also gets just a bit of drone when it's hot, though not quite enough to annoy.

How do the DP's change the sound? Louder, more bass, more rasp, etc? Is it more noticable when it's hot or cold, or is it pretty much the same all the time?

Thanks!

-Chris

Ill have to get back to you about all these questions. From when I heard it on the lift is sounds like the RS4 is sport mode when I heard it at the dealer just reving the engine. When I just had the MillTek exhaust it always droned around 1500 - 2000 RPM and I would say it is the same not the much amplified. When i am on the throttle, only when the car is warmed up it has a raspy tone kinda like an american V8. This is from Driving it as I do not trust people driving my car. I will be tracking the car withing a month and can let you now exactly what it sounds like since Car Crazy (Full Milltek) and I are in the same run group.
