Default How many turn signals can this car go thru?

I've replaced my turn signals about 6 times in the last 4 months.

Several of them are the factory bulbs from Audi and some are either Sylvania or Phillips so I don't thin they are inferior bulbs.

What is going on? This is probably the biggest gripe I have with this car.

Default I pulled out both of the rear tail lamps and...

cleaned each bulb with alcohol. While I had out each bulb I pulled the metal bulb connector out a little more to give each bulb a firmer connection. I don't know if this will help but I can't think of anything else.

I actually have 2 bulbs out. The turn signal on the left rear side. When I pulled out that bulb it was completely shattered on one side. I emptied the remaining pieces of glass out of the lense.

The right side was the dual filament bulb. It was blown because one of the filament was loose inside the bulb.

Sounds like something isn't right. In almost two years of ownership, I've never replaced a bulb.

Default Me too. In the 2.5 years of ownership nothing but in the last 4-6 months it has been....

on very consistent. It was weird because once 1 started they just seem to go one after another.

Default Could be a circuitry problem.

The bulbs have somewhat of a series circuit. That's why when a turn signal goes out, the others blink faster (because of an imbalance in the voltage). Same thing happens when you add a bulb with a much higher voltage rating than the rest. A problem with your harness/wiring can affect all bulbs because of that.

Default In 39 months of "lease-ship," I had to do about 5 bulb replacements...

and that was the extent of the 'mechanical' problems of the car. Definitely no complaints here!
