How much of a difference do downpipes make?

How much of a difference do downpipes make?
I have B & B exhaust and downpipes but had them installed at the same time, i was just wondering the difference if i would have only did the exhaust and not the downpipes.

I wonder if it's because now that you've open the entire exhaust system up, thus it gives you the impression that the DP made the most impact. If you only replace the DP, will you feel the same impact? I have a feeling it's not as much.

Probably right.
I'm doing the DP's first but I wont be getting a dyno done, I'll let you know if it feels or sounds different (not very accurate)
