I finally got to test drive the B6 S4...
this is a pretty sweet car. I love the improvements that Audi has made to this car from the B6. The suspension is better the seats and the sounds have been enhanced for a sportier feel. Not to forget that power improvements.
I have a stage 2 car and feel that it is equally fast, but the throttle response is not the same as the B6. I love that car but think that is pretty costly for those enhancements.
Does anyone want to do a head to head comparison b/w the B5 and B6 S4? Let me know. I'm curious.

The only run I've had was w/ masterblaster Stage 2 from 60 on in 3rd
I walked it and flew past as soon as he shifted (you b5ers short shift for optimal torque) and he never caught up.
Then we tried again in 4th, where I knew his turbo and torque advantage should have him get ahead quick....and he did. As soon as he was nearing the shift, I had caught up and once he did, I evened up and passed. The b6 has a pretty damn good top end.

Thanks, but Benjjman007 gets my vote. He's raced against an F355, carreras...etc.
However, good thing other audiworld people were there that day so I don't get called BS on this as well.

I test drove one a couple of weeks ago, and had almost the same impressions
The interior is amazing, the handling is also much better, the direction is very light and quite precise and I love the suspensions (stiff yet comfortable).
As far as power and acceleration, I have driven (and pushed) both my car (stage 3 B5) and my friends E46 M3. My feeling is that it is a good bit slower thatn the M3 and much slower than my car.
Great car nonetheless, but I agree with you, I woudl have loved to see a bit more raw power for the money.
Oh well, I guess I will have to wait for the next RS4

How's that unfortunate?
Didn't you say you can't launch worth ****?
Timeslips don't lie for the pro's definitely!
There's no doubt in my mind that I could beat my b6 driving masterblasters at a 1/4 strip...but from 60 on...it was all B6, no matter who the driver.

You mean racegas. Let's get it straight.
I ran a Stage 2 B5 S4 at the track several times.
The best time he got was a 13.27@104 running APR race gas with 112 (lead-free) and Twin2 exhaust.
However, when we ran with him on the 93 map, he ran a 13.6 to my 13.7. Not too shabby for a station wagon with no engine improvements. :-D
