I think I got reamed by my dealer. For those who installed XM or Sirius after purchase, how much...
did it cost you to install the part? I'm not talking about the cost of the receiver itself, but rather the labor to have it installed?
I'm fighting with my dealer over the charge. They charged me over 3 hours of labor to install it. I think that's total crap.
Anybody else know how long/how much for their install? TIA.

I think I paid $125 for labor, but I'm not 100% sure. It wasn't 3 hours, that's for sure.
You might want to look at the TSB on the radio install that was posted here and see if it has a labor total on it...

I have the service record here in front of me.
Installed XM Radio per Customers Request: $287.04
I think that's insane.
Anyway, I called the service guy and he spoke with his boss, and they said they came up with 3 hours for the install charge. I still can't get a response on why it takes so long, but he just says that's the figure that the sales and service guys came up with to install it.
I've been dragging this out since Jan. I'm not very happy about it. But it looks like I'm gonna have to pay it anyway. OH, and they wanted to charge me for wiper blades too. :-/

yea, I had the service adviser check the TSB and find out what Audi specs as the install time.
They said they have nothing about specific times, but that it was an "agreement" between sales and service.
It's ok, I'm going to take it up with AoA.
Do you have a copy of the TSB?

I was considering swapping from Sirius to XM when I got my car. The dealer said that they would
do a straight swap on the hardware, but I would incur 1 - 1 1/2 hours of labour.
Hope this helps.

It shouldn't take a knowledgable mechanic more than 1/2 hour. Descriptions over on the audio forum and
