would fit the 2004 S4 properly for winter wheels other than the Ronal or the one at Tirerack... I've looked some nice wheels on e-bay. The 2000-2001 S4 was using 17" wheels. It's been discussed already but nobody seems to be sure, several are saying "It should fit" but should is not accepted here since I don't want to be stuck with 4 wheels that don't fit properly.
The PDF file of the Audi S4 says the following:
Size: 8Jx18
Offset: 43mm
Also, could somebody explain me what is the offset? If another wheel offset is 45mm, does that mean it would fit better than a 40mm offset? 7.5x17 would fit but what offset is needed?
Thanx a lot,
Sylvain (a bit confused here...)

<a href="http://toy4two.home.mindspring.com/offset.html">Wheel Offset Calc</a>
Basically, the lower the offset number, the more the wheels are pushed towards the outside of the car.

Also, we know that B5 S4 wheels will fit on the B6 A4, so there is no offset issue with them (they are identical in size to the standard B6 A4 sport package wheels). The only issue you may encounter is brake clearance, which would require a test fit to determine if it's an issue.

I think I read a post from someone who said they had fitment issues with an aftermarket wheel on the rear caliper (I know this doesn't make sense), even though the front was fine. Just something to check before you mount tires on them, although I think they'll be OK. Also, if need be, there's plenty of outside clearance to add a 5 or 10mm spacer in the rear.
