Issue with anti-vibration sensor on Porterfield Pads, Brake Pad Question.
I have a '05 S4 cab. I ordered the Porterfield RS4 Pads as I was under the impression they would be best for street/track use. The problem is they shipped them with the wrong type of clip. They said I can ship them a set of old pads and they can take the clips off them and place them on new pads (for the front pads only). The rear pads are fine.
Anyone have any other suggestions or know of a company that makes a pad already with the correct clips that would be a good compromise for street and not boil off on the track?
(And does anyone have an old set of pads they would sell cheap?)
Thanks.

Carbotech has pads
and a 10% discount if you're an s-cars.org member...
I've been running XP8s and they're a bit too noisy for the street (but I'm jut putting up with it). The Bobcats may be better than stock for the track....
I did a whole year of track stuff on the stock pads, so who knows, the Carbotech street pads might do well for occasional track days.

I looked at carbotech, worried about the bobcats heating up to much and boiling off like the stock..
pads..
And how bad is the dust/noise with the XP8? I know its hard to judge..

Hehehe, they sold you a set of A6 pads.
I already replied to your other post regarding used pads, but I would like to recommend Carbotech.
I've been using Carbotech pads for quite a while, and I've had nothing but great satisfaction out of the pads. I use a set of Hawk pads this past weekend, and I toasted a set of rotors and turned my Silver Brembo's to Gold. (I love GOOOOOLD!...sorry... ;-D)
Your looking for a street pad, yes? I have a set of the R4S's in my Brembo's for the street. They are a pretty good pad. But I would prefer the bobcats over the porterfieids, especially for the track. But if your going track, get some xp8's or 9's as they are going to take the heat a lot better.
The R4S's cannot be used on the track. I know this from experience.

XP8 is purely a track pad. Don't use them on the street.
They are ok in terms of wear, but they will be pretty noisy.
The Bobcats are a great street pad. You may want to look at the Panther Plus' as well.
