Called today to check the status and was told that even though I ordered it in November, the dealer couldn't commission the build until 12/8. Now it is in line for production and will be built the week of 1/23, delivered to port on 3/6, and arrive by truck at the dealership on 3/10.

Is this similar/disimilar to anyone else's experience???

If it makes you feel any better, I ordered mine on 7/23 and took delivery on 12/9.

If it makes you feel worse, I ordered mine on 6/20 and was delivered 8/19. 3 weeks early! :-)

When we ordered our car the dealer had an allocation that week so our order was placed the next day and we were given an end of November estimate by the dealer. Once the car made it in to the computer system the estimate was December 19th. We were very pleased when it arrived at the end of November as originally estimated. I think we were lucky with our timing in that an allocation was available right when we placed our order.

I guess I got lucky. The dealer had 10 S4's on the lot, but only one stick and it just happened to be black. Exactly what I wanted! The only downer was that it had a few miles on it from being test driven. The dealer said I would have had to wait 3-4 months if I would have ordered one, but it wasn't worth it to me to wait that long to get a car with 10 miles on it vs 200. The Dolphin Blue color was the reason you had to wait. I was also interested in getting Moro Blue, but again it would have been a 3-4 month wait.
