I just really love my Avant. Purchased August of 2004, now with 33k miles. I have modified the car to my own liking, and can't imagine going through the process with another car. There is simply nothing out there, even 3 years later, that I like better. There are cars that I think would perform as well, or maybe have a bit more grunt, but by no means would they be as unique, fun, and functional as this car. Anything with significant gains would also cost me alot more money than keeping this car under an extended warranty. So, the honeymoon may be over, but the marriage is still solid.

I've decided to keep my S for awhile and I figured that I would look into the extended warranty costs when I take the S in for the 35k service in a few weeks.

I'm almost on 50k and not even sure how to go about getting this. Also, if you modify the car (coil overs, chip etc) does that make it invalid? Any tips or advice appreciated

cover the failure of your aftermarket suspension or exhaust, but there is no problem getting the coverage despite these mods. I made full verbal disclosure before I entered into the deal. I didn't have to fill out any special forms or anything, so the platinum coverage will effectively operate like an extension of the original warranty.
