Default K-MAC or Ajustable Control Arms

I have a 2006 S4 and I'll be replacing my H&R suspension with Ohlins SL Sport Suspension.

Currently I have K-MAC bushings and was thinking of switching to ajustable control arms.

Looking for advice on pro/cons of switching.

Default Well.. I heard CPP no longer makes the adjustable arms

You probably would have to find them used, or contact BHR or CPT.

What is the reason you want to switch?

Default I have the STaSIS Motorsport coilovers

with K-MAC's. They are adjustable enough for my taste.

Are you going to be tracking the car frequently? Or do you just want the ability to adjust settings at random?

I don't like the noise associated with the K-MACs. You don't have this problem?

Default The noise from the metal joints on the adjustable arms will be just as bad...

are you getting a squeaking noise? The poly bushing probably needs to be lubed.

I had this noise when I had kmac's on my B5

Default No squeaking, but knocking with the KMACs on slightly bumpy roads

About a month or so after having the KMACs installed, I started to notice a slight knocking noise up front when going over slightly bumpy roads. At first, I thought it was my suspension and brought the car back to Achtuning in WA but we couldn't reproduce the knocking sound during a road test and they checked out my suspension and all looked OK.

Since then, the knocking has gotten worse. I finally made the connection to the KMACs when I was pulling into the garage three weeks ago. I had pulled my wheel hard to the left and heard a knock. Once in the garage, I turned the wheel from right to left and heard the same knocking sound that I was hearing while cruising down slightly bumpy roads. I searched various forums and found posts by people experiencing the same issue with KMACs.

I did contact BHR as you suggested - Aaron replied and said he didn't make the arms anymore. I explained my problem and he suggested a few things to look at with the KMAC install.

Default Hmm... knocking doesn't sound like a normal issue with the kmacs

unless they are so dry that when the poly bushing is trying to move it can't and then pops?

You really need to go through that install and check it over.... a quick spray of some lube on them could tell you right away if it's the above situation...
