K40 Calibre problem. Looking for help, insight, etc.

Hi all,
I'm looking for a little help. I just had a k40 Calibre Bluetooth DL (front and back) and front and back Bluetooth Laser diffusers installed on my 2006 B7 S4 Avant. It was professionally installed by a certified k40 dealer.
Ok so the problem is this, after running the car for an hour to an hour and a half, the unit stops responding. It no longer responds when switching it over from City to Highway, Tone to Voice, etc. Basically the brain goes to sleep and won't come back on until I shut the car down then restart. I did the obvious and changed the remote batteries. Still no go. Then I brought it back to the dealer and they replaced the brain and the remote (leaving in the original sensors). Same problem...after an hour it would just stop responding. A handful of calls from the dealer to k40 tech support yielded nothing but frustration.
The dealer (who has been great) repatched the power thinking that the circuit it was on would go dormant after an hour. After 3 repatches and many trips to the dealer, no luck. Then while checking all of the connections (there's only really power and ground..very frustrating), he found that the front radar cable was overheating from going though my engine compartment. He replaced the front sensor, changed the cable and reran it up and over my Carbonio (not the prettiest, but at this point I'll take anything that works), the system was reset and still no luck. We even had a Fluke meter on the circuit and it was fine at 12v, so the power isn't the problem. I'm going back in Monday to change the brain for a third time and change out the rear sensor. If that doesn't work, then my only option will be to remove it entirely and return it to k40. I really don't want to do that, I love the unit when it's working and will have a really hard time losing my laser diffusers and going back to my Escort suction cupped to my windshield and plugged into the lighter.
Any insight, advice, help, etc. would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

I have the same unit front and rear on my 2007 s4 cab for 2500 miles so far the unit has worked without any glitches. Perhaps a main unit swap out? Do you have bluetooth phone dealer installed perhaps a conflict with the Cals bluetooth? I think the best would be to have the dealer either replace the units or remove and refund you money. Hope you get it workin cause I cant drive 55 either.

Thanks for the reply drdan. We've already swapped the main unit once and will replace it again tomorrow or Tuesday. This (and replacing the rear sensor) seem like the very last hope for this set-up in my car. I do have from my car paired with my cell phone, though I performed a test with the bluetooth off on the car and the phone to no avail. Also the Calibre is on it's own private bluetooth network and won't receive interference. Again, I love this K40 set-up and am extremely reluctant to get rid of it. I'm also stubborn and hate being defeated by something like this
Did you install it yourself or did you have a K40 dealer do it? Curious where you tapped the power for your main unit and if there was any difficulty with the install...
Thanks again...

restarting the car fixed it. I have had my K40 for three months without any other issues.
