Kinda dumb question...would running 235/45/18 winter tires cause any issues like rubbing?

Default Kinda dumb question...would running 235/45/18 winter tires cause any issues like rubbing?

If it wouldn't rub would it cause any adverse handling effects?

I'm considering getting a set of Dunlop SP Winter Sport M3's this season instead of the 17" setup with the same tires from past seasons.

TIA guys!

Default ? Why would you want to run that size?

235/40/18 or 225/40/18.

Default In that tire that's the closest size Tirerack carries...

Ideally I'd want to run stock size

Default Check the tire diameter in the specs section in tire rack.

Or try this. I am running 245/40 18 and there is just very slight rub under a full load of passengers. If the tire you are looking at is close to the diameter of a 245/40 you will be OK

Tire calculator

He's looking for winters though. No need to go wider, but rather narrower.

Default Get 225/40/18.. and you can get the Winterspot 3D while you're at it.

225/40/18 is better for winter. Narrower is better in the snow.. especially heavier snow.. and narrower is WAY better in slush. Also, that size won't rub, and everything will work perfectly.
