Put it as close to the license plate as possible...
Cops use the license plate as their target with a laser gun. My sensor (Lidetek 30) is just below the license plate area and it fits in the grill work without any cutting necessary.

There is no need for a dual unit. I've been saved a couple of times...
but it was a shock when that thing went off the first time (very loud and a huge surprise). The cop kept aiming at me and then nailed a WRX two cars after I went past.
