Mounting. (Not quite level when the pic was taken.) Mirrored on other side. Screws do not interfere at all with lower grill.

***UPDATED: I set the transponders 'most' of the way thru the grill. They will pass freely thru this particular opening, and you can set the depth where ever you like.

Transponders fit perfectly in this location without any cutting, bending, etc. Driver's side is very close to whatever module is mounted behind the lower grill, but no interference.
***UPDATED: Yellow line shows transponder wiring route. There is a wiring harness, and hose for headlight washer fluid, to run with horizontally along the top of the bumper. Immediately above and behind the locating bumper for the hood (between radiator and headlight) is an opening to easily pass the wiring into the engine comparment.

***UPDATED: Yellow line shows wiring route to opening next to radiator.

***UPDATED: Yellow line shows wiring routing thru engine compartment. Not entirely satisfied with this routing, and may apply stick on routing clips along inside of driver's side fender and route wires behind washer and hydraulic reservoirs. Wiring passes infront of ECU and under main harness, then turns towards cabin and goes under ECU. In trying to locate the grommet to use, I lifted the ECU box slightly to get access under it; knowing the location of the grommet now, I don't think I would have to do this for another install. All work was done from inside the cabin and engine comparment - no need to get under the car.
<img src="http://pictureposter.audiworld.com/74564/fusepanel.jpg">
LE-30 control module mounts nicely just above the fuse panel on the left using the double sided tape provided. Temporary (maybe) on/off switch mount in center. V1 hardwire & remote display adapter on right. Accessory fuse adapter powers LE-30 & V1 - on/off with ignition.

Not sure how audible the speaker will be in this location. Power on indicators are easily heard, but that is without road noise. Depending on experience, may remount lower near the speaker opening that already exists and remove the insulation that covers it.

I wish I could have used the grommet DonP used on his install, but it is not available with 6MT. Instead I used an open grommet just to the left of where the battery feed comes thru. This was the worst part of the install, as that grommet comes out under the ECU box...which is not an easy place to get to. I used a #3 Phillips from inside the car to pull the grommet inside out so I could cut the end (that is normally on the engine compartment side). Then ran a pull wire thru, attached the transponder connector cables inside the car and pulled them into the engine compartment. Text doesn't show well on this picture: Right line points to battery feed, Left line points to transponder leads.
I have not installed the LED at this point and probably wont, unless I find a combination LED & On/Off switch that blend better with the interior of car.

Are the transponders flush with the front of the grille, or are they behind it? Do they fit through the grille?
Did you run both transponder wires on the driver's side of the engine compartment? Was there a good wire bundle to piggyback to?
Still waiting for mine to arrive...

I did a similar install with the Lidatek brain and V1 in the fuse box area. The speaker was installed in the left heater/AC vent, the LED in the lower left corner of the windshield (no drilling necessary) and the on/off switch next to the hood release. The only visible element is the LED at night.
Both the LE-30 and V1 are wired to the ignition so there is no battery drain.

From the engine compartment side of the firewall, were you working from below the car to run the wires over to the front? Is a lift required or will I be able to do it on a set of ramps?

No lift or ramps required at all.
The lower grill is a low as I got, and all the wiring routed up from there into the engine comparment.
I've updated my orginal post to show the wire routing.
