Looking to buy a B7 S4 Avant and wanted to find out the pros and cons.......
you all have found with your cars/avants. I am hoping to get some ideas of what are the must haves while I am searching for the right car.
Any input will be appreciated.

pros - cool car; high hp wagons are badass; no replacement for displacement; JHM has some great parts for the cars
cons - the avants carry a pretty substantial pricing premium over here as a result of there no longer being an Audi 'sport' wagon offered (no S6 avant, no S4 avant...not even any AMG/M wagons anymore)...the B7 S4 is the last of a dying breed.

Never Follows
I was looking into an s4 Avant before I got my A4 Avant.
In the end the updated styling, added amenities, better gas mileage, and longer warranty lead me to the A4.
S4 Avant is a great car but like Sakimano said you will pay a premium because they are no longer sold in the US.
Good luck in your search.

S4 Avant
My opinion
- is you first have to decide how much you drive and if filing up for $50 every ~215 miles is worth it to have a torque monster with a beautiful V8 sound. Other cars will beat you now and again but who cares
- Next decide if you have to have a certain color because not many were built. If you must have a color. You will go six months if not longer waiting for one to pop up. When it does, no guarantee it will be well taken care of.
- Finally, manual or automatic. Manual are really the ones who demand a true premium and sell very quickly. Automatics will sit for some time (still not long) and can be negotiated for somewhat.
The B7 avants have plenty of options. It is by far the nicest car I have ever had and not the most expensive. I don't think you will be disappointed by what if offers. Don't worry about nav. it doesn't pick the best route but just the shortest (takes you down a gravel road if it is the shortest distance) Bose is not that much of a benefit. Heated seats in the rear (really?) Window shades are nice but just get a good tint (makes car looks better anyway).

Oh yeah! I didn't want carbon fiber trim because I thought it would look to much like an tuner vehicle an 16 year old would drive but see the pics. Very dark and rich and sets off the dark black leather seats. I would have love to have black alcantra but not in the cards.

probably the same reason why most people get a B7 S4...that V8 and the rumble that comes along with it. Also, I have always loved the S4 Avant and figured now would be a good time to pick one up before most get up there in miles.
