Default Looking for chip advice - GIAC, REVO, or APR? (crossed in B7S4)

I'm in California and we only have 91 octane readily available, so my primary concern with getting a chip is:

1) Improved accelerator response (linear instead of "jumpy" stock setting)

2) Valet mode

3) Ability to remove/hide the program and reset the ECU for trips to the dealer for service

That said, does anyone have a recommendation or knowledge of the options mentioned above for GIAC, REVO, or APR? I STFA and found some good information, but I'd like to know what the latest opinions are...and I know it's not worth the money in most people's opinion, but I plan on doing it anyway just to have some fun.

Thanks!

Default Waste of cash on our car but if you dont care like me....REVO

Throttle Response Fixed.
91 octane you wont feel much of a difference other then TR and passing redline +500 but you're sup. to shift at 100 below redline for max TQ so it really doesn't matter.

100 octane is fun. Get it if you feel you will go out and play with 100 oct. If not..dont bother.

One plus for me was that the SPS fits 996/997 pcars so I can take my sps and just get that car flashed.

Good Luck.

Default The main benefit of our Revo is the redline. Makes a big difference top end against a lot of

other cars you'd normally get walked by stock...ie stage 2+ b5 s4, carrea 996 (315hp), stock 05 STI.

I'm 2+ and can pull on the aforementioned.

Default What? Try engrish like Chan. I can understand that more clearly than ^^

If you're talking about the quickness of my S, keep your clutch intact and we should be able to run sometime soon. Also, I'm not saying just a flash will get you fast, nor am I claiming any set of aluminum piping, cats to tail ;P.

Besides, you've seen the vid I have against the b5 right? The sti guy, even came onto TP and posted how I pulled on him from a roll and I dood deh repp from the launch..

stoli much?

Default We've debated this for a long time and it's a matter of personal choice. If you have....

extra cash laying around collecting dust by all means go for it. If you want to make the car go faster in places other than a straight drag...H Sport sway bars...the best bang for the buck on this piggy. )

Default I have GIAC and really like it...

the throttle response change alone was worth it to me, but coupled with full exhaust and some good gas, I think the power gains are noticeable. Not sure on the 91 octane if you notice as much of a difference, but I am just a personal fan of the GIAC on my car so far, and can definitely recommend to others.

AWE claims 10%+ gains on the dyno with cat back, downpipes, and GIAC chip on 92+ gas. I have that combo, and it seems to feel pretty damn close, but I have not personally dyno'd the car.

Like it has been said, it is really a lot of personal choice when it comes to chipping this car, but I am of the understanding that the GIAC in stock mode is the best bet for dealer servicing if that is an issue for you.

Default what dont you get. should i babblefish to farsi?

When David flashed the car he told me exactly what i said before.
I realise you have the SUPER S! but when it comes from the mouth of the guy who does this for a living I tend to belive him over the sweet 16 marketing guy.

Kurt was there. He can confirm.
I never watched the video. I heard you talk about it to much :P
