Default I had misfires on 5 of my 6 cylinders on my A4.

I'd be going down the highway and my CEL would start flashing (ECU was recording misfires). I didn't feel the engine misfiring, so I thought it was weird.

Dealer replaced the ECU. That didn't help.

I doubted it was Coil packs or spark plugs, because it would be pretty messed up to have 5 of 6 CP's or plugs bad.

Anyways... after my third dealer visit they call the Audi Tech line and find there is a TSB for the 2004 A4 and S4 6-speed tranny only. I guess during assembly they installed a washer on the mount for an RPM sensor when they shouldn't have. The dealer removed this washer per the instructions and I haven't had a problem since.

If you want a copy of the TSB, I'd be happy to email it to you. It's worth a shot.

So, Alan, what are you limiting your mods to?

I agree with you, hence no modding!

Cat back exhaust and wheels to date. I still hold the door open on brake pads, but that's it.

Default You know you're right . I just thought I was getting old. When

I took delivery of my B5 S4 on Jan 6th 2000 - see I even remember the date, it was that memorable.
I was already deep into research on "mods" . I was so into it that I even drove down to Alabama to the APR facility and they used my car, the first tip, as a test mule and Barb, my wife, and I sat in their shop while they reformatted the ECU chip for the tip about 8 hous butt time as I remember. I also remember leaving there with the new ECU and saying WOW ..
This was to be repeated over and over again in the next few years. I also almost immediately bought new wheels and tires.. I engaged in many mod discussions on the forum.
That car never let me down. It got 24 even 26mpg on trips. Never less than 18 around town.
It had 37,000 miles on it in late 2002 and it was in for the last warranty shop stop and the dealer offered to replace the turbos, they were whistling, and also replace the front brakes under warranty.. There were no fights or arguments I even didn't initiate the process.
I knew I was going to order the V8 which I did in late Feb 2003 took delivery in September. That car.the first one was replaced March 5th with a "new" one.
I haven't even thought about any changes.. I guess for a lot of reasons.
An interesting difference in attitude between the cars. I can't readily define the reasons.
Just one guy's observations.

I can't really think of a reason to do it. I am happy with the car's power as is.

I am driving an audi S4 b7 V8 and had fault code of misfire, p0300 , p0301 , I have checked and swapped the coil pack to other bank but the code still there and its still p0301. I have to put on another fuel injector but no good. Then I changed all the spark plugs but still the same.

I found the misfire will gone if in High rpm but existed in idling.

before I found there was a hose losing from the intake maniford, I took the maniford out and mounted it on....before there were P0302, p0303 , p0304 cide, but after i fixed the hose from the intake maniford, they all gone but except the P0301 never gone.

Any idea ? Thanks
