Default Missing Dipstick and CEL

I got my 50,000 mile oil change on Friday in Annapolis, MD. Drove to Memphis, TN on Saturday because I'm relocating with a new job. Get up this morning (Sunday) and start the car and I get a CEL. So, I pop the hood to check the oil, to make sure there's no problem since it was changed on Friday, only to find that my oil dipstick is missing. I'm freakin livid right now!

Will it hurt to drive the car for a couple of days until I can replace the dipstick? Could this cause the CEL light? Should the oil be changed again now?

Default Had my car serviced right after yours at same dealership.

Checking my dipstick now, those dips**ts. I had a 25000 mile service, same place and parked right behind you that morning. Nice car!

You need to worry about debris or water getting into the tube. Not likely, but I would change the oil again so I could sleep at night.

Congrats on the new job.

Default Just put something in to seal the orafice.

Rubber stopper/bolt/golf tee. Something that will not fall in or out or melt.

Default No and yes.

I'd plug the opening, so nothing can get in, and you should be good until you get a new dip-stick.

Once you cover it, the cel should go out.

Default OMG you have 2 dip sticks. Col. I would do what the doc says. He prescribes a sealing

of the orafice.

Default Update: Called dealer in Annapolis; they found the dipstick....

and are going to UPS it to me. They say the CEL should go out after 2 or 3 drive cycles. According to the guy I spoke with, the CEL is because it is registering a leak in the system. Guess we'll see. I tried the golf tee thing as the Doc suggested until I get my dipstick back.
