Default mpg help

i have an 2004 s4, and the gas mileage.. i have to ask you guys. i am getting about 10 mpg in mixed city/highway driving... with ac running. i am driving very gently to see if this is a car issue or a heavyfoot problem. please let me know what you guys think.

Default Yea my gas mileage drops horribly when I have the ac on in mixed driving like that.

Its the start stop of the city driving that is killing it mixed with the ac, if you can stand it drive with the windows down and the ac off, it improves significantly.

Default 10 seems very low - I get 15.8 or so mixed driving

and hilly areas and not easy on the throttle. try going to syn oil - can get you amaybe one MPG.

I run AC 100% of the time, and when I really try to conserve I'm getting 14mpg all city driving

Default Actually Audi is ahead....

we just have the car that drinks gas. The FSI cars blow BMW out of the water in performance and gas milage. And thats the version thats detuned for our crappy gas.

Default when i am just driving around mostly small highways and back roads...

with or without AC I am at about 10. When I am out of lead foot mode it goes up to about 13-14. On the interstates I get about 18-19 w/ the AC on.

Default I average 16 mpg...with about 75% freeway driving

Even with mostly freeway miles, I am either stop and go (cali traffic) or 85+ (off commute hours).

I average 250 - 275 miles per tank.
