Re: mpg help
in city with 6spd gas mileage says around 10-12.
with about 70% highway, get around 15. I average around 225-240 miles per tank.
when I am in stop and go traffic, I can watch the needle move down. I am sure the car burns at the rate of 10mpg standing still. I bet I could idle and the car would burn through a tankfull quite quickly. In my mind..this is a serious problem and downside of the car.

Re: mpg help
With tiptronic, not running a/c alot, and about 80% city nonagressive driving, I'm getting about 16.5-17mph. Improved after 10,000 miles, although weather also warmed up about the same time, which may help.

I guess I got really lucky with my S4....15-16mpg in the city and highway and about
21-23mpg on the highway. My car does not use up oil either and I check every 1000km since it only has about 7000km on it.

17-18 combined
My commute to work is 12 mintues, with exactly half of those minutes in "city" driving. But I have to admit its not usually stop and go and I can keep a steady speed on the city streets whe there is no traffic. I do a 1-3-5 shift in the city and that seems to help a little. With the AC I get 16-17, without I get 17-18 combined.
Good luck with your below average gas mileage.

I noticed CITY driving can mean different things for different people...
especially dependant on WHICH city it is that you are driving in....while I have not lived (nor do I drive) in any other city than NYC (Brooklyn to be exact) while I get 12MPG city driving in my G35x...others with the same car in different cities get upwards of 16mpg. The reason being that the streets are much smaller...many more lights...much more traffic...etc etc...
